Citizen responsibility

Looking even superficially at the situation in Haiti, we Haitians must recognize that the Haitian state at present is bankrupt and does not exist. One can then ask, since the Haitian nation exists through its citizens, but the Haitian state as an organization representing the citizens is not, who should assume the so-called state responsibilities in the meantime? There is only one option. Citizens and citizen organizations themselves must replace the state in its basic functions and circumvent the current political system to start from scratch later. Citizen responsibility requires that citizens organize themselves to ensure the safety of their community, clean up their environment, provide social services through mutual aid and solidarity, as well as establish a minimum level of justice against murderers and corrupt to pave the way for the future. For the moment, the democratic dream is a dangerous mirage that is beyond the reach of Haitian society. Let's take note of this reality.
