A Nepalese contingent of UN forces recently arrived from Nepal, where in August of this year there was a cholera epidemic in the city of Nepalgunj, not to mention the epidemics in 2009 and where cholera has never been eradicated , is at the origin of this disaster. The contamination was probably generated by the irresponsible discharge of water containing faeces into a stream flowing in the Artibonite River. Cholera had disappeared in Haiti more than one hundred (100) years ago.
